Red Ribbon Week 2022
“Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free”
October 24th-October 31st
*During Red Ribbon Week, we would like for your students to decorate your
classroom door with messages (use the red ribbon theme, drawings, and symbols)
about the purpose of Red Ribbon Week. Doors will be judged on Friday, October 28th
and a winner will be announced on Monday October, 31st.
Day 1: Monday, October 24rd
“Put a Stop to Drugs”- Everyone wears red
Red Ribbon Week will kick off Monday, October 23rd. We are asking all students
wear as much red as possible. Homeroom teachers will read the article “The Red
Ribbon Campaign and Enrique Kiki Cameron” to students, and then begin
decorating their classroom doors.
Day 2: Tuesday, October 25th
“Throw Shade to Drugs”- Wear sunglasses
Pass out red ribbons during homeroom, and ask students to wear their ribbons all
day.
Day 3: Wednesday, October 26th
“Hugs not Drugs”- Bring a blanket to wrap up in in class
Homeroom teachers discuss peer pressure responses to doing drugs and have
students complete the Pressure Concept Map.
Day 4: Thursday, October 27th
“Kick Drugs to the Curb”- Wear boots
Students participate in SWAT peer pressure concept game.
Day 5: Friday, October 28th
“Drugs are Never in Style”- Dress like your favorite decade
Students create cause and effect chains, with both the negative consequences to
choosing drugs and the positive consequences to remaining drug free.
Day 6: Monday, October 31st
“Drugs are Scary”- Wear Halloween costumes/Halloween gear

Tomorrow, October 19, 2022 is Unity Day. Students may wear orange tops and uniform bottoms to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. No jeans are allowed. We want to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. Thanks in advance for your support!
